one other acrostic poem

Cooked to perfection
Healthy for you
In an oven
Chewy
Killed by cutting the head of a chicken
Everyone's favorite source of protein
Nutritious

poem

Track is what i do for fun
Racing in the meets is a challenge
Anyone can do it
Coaches help me along the way
Kicking myself if I do bad

A fun sport
Not at all hard
Doesn't take long to master

Field events are a big part
I also do the shotput
Everbody does their own thing
Long distance throws matter
Don't you wanna give it a try??

Acrostic poetry is an easy technique when writing poems. Many authors did it a while ago and they wrote it on leaves, each letter of the word saying something else.

Styles of poetry

Style 1: Acrostic poems- began in the year 586 BC
The word acrostic was first used to explain the meaning of Erithraean Sibyl, which were written on a leaf so that each first letter on the leaf would form a word.

Example: Edgar Allan Poe wrote an acrostic poem called Elizabeth

My example:
Fluttering in the breeze
Lovely looking
On the ground
Will die if not watered
Enjoyable
Roses are flowers

Sample 2: Tongue Twisters:

Poetry slam refelction

Today's poetry slam was a successful activity. I thought that my poem turned out well, even though it wasn't a full three minutes of length. I would really like to do this activity again, but with a different theme. Somthing I did not like was that when you read your poem, it had to be three minutes long. That was a hard task for some people, especially me, because mine was not really that long. Something I did like was commenting on everyone else's poem and giving them a score. I really liked this exercise and would like to do it again.

poem/biograpghy

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

The Road Not Taken- Robert Frost

Robert Frost- born March 26, 1874 in San Fransisco, California and died January 29, 1963 in Boston, Massachusetts at the age of 88. He has written may poems and plays, such as The Road Not Taken. I like this poet because I read one of his poems in one of my English classes and thought it was a very good poem.

Sonnet

There once was a girl who did the five mile
She did it with her very skinny dad
They are pros, they aren't at all very bad
It didn't take them a long while
There was a long line of single file
They both won, they weren't very sad
The dad thought this was totally rad
This both made them crack a smile
Their family was so very very happy
The duo wanted a very big cake
That the mother would be happy to bake
Some moments were very sappy
This day is a huge fuss to make
The girl just had to tell her pappy
